Case study

Translated, not reinvented.

The overlooked thing

Leslie was good at the work. The site was the only place that did not say so.

Fifteen years managing billions across global markets, then she left that for the work that actually called her. Clients describe the result in their own words.

“I gained comprehensive knowledge and clarity about my finances.”

Dinha

“Leslie listened with intention and, in just a few sessions, I have more confidence about how to control my financial future.”

Taryn

The starting point

Her site detailed the mission statement, a personal journey, core values, and financial wellness. It left a reader to work out who it was for, what happens on a call, and how to start. That mission was the raw material. It was not yet doing the work of a homepage.

Nothing about Leslie changed. Everything about how she shows up did.

The move

The position was already hers. In our first working session, she chose “money mentor” over coach or guide, and that one word decided the rest of the site. It became the headline: your money mentor, wherever you’re starting from.

From there: three named audiences instead of one general one, a three-step path from a free call to an ongoing plan, and one action repeated at the end of every page instead of once in the navigation. Book the call.

Positioning and the money mentor headline
Four pages rewritten and restructured
Identity applied throughout
LinkedIn and Instagram profile and banner assets
What it is
Before
The previous My Camino Financial home page, which opened on the word Mission beside five paragraphs about a personal journey, core values, and financial wellness, then ended in a contact block
The whole home page was the mission statement. Nowhere on it does the site say what she does.
After
The rebuilt My Camino Financial home page hero, headlined Your money mentor, wherever you are starting from, with a Book your free call button and a link to the packages
One word she chose herself, doing the work of the whole page.

Once the site says what it is, it can say who it is for.

Who it is for
Before
A detail of the previous home page: the mission statement, reading that My Camino Financial's mission is to serve women and non-binary people through financial education and self exploration opportunities
The only clause on the site that named a reader, inside a sentence about the practice.
After
The rebuilt My Camino Financial home page, headed Who this is for, with the headline You do not need to already know everything about money and three cards naming first-time investors and savers, women navigating a transition, and recent grads and career starters
Three named audiences, each one specific enough to recognize yourself in.

Naming the reader is only half of it. She also has to know what happens next.

How to start
Before
The previous My Camino Financial Begin page, headed Let us Get Started, listing four categories to choose from above a form asking for first name, last name, email, and two required open-ended questions, beside a stock photo of a neon sign reading the journey is on
The only way in: sort yourself into a category, then fill five fields and two open questions, before a word had been exchanged.
After
The rebuilt My Camino Financial site, headed How it starts, with the headline Your intro call step by step, three cards reading the call, pick your path, and build your clarity, and a Ready to talk section ending in a Book your free call button
The call explained in three steps, then one button. It ends every page.

The result

Leslie recalls nearly all of the women who booked their free intro call became clients. The practice was never the problem. The call was already doing the work.

So the site was not built to fix a funnel. It was built to put more of the right people in front of that call.

Conversion tracking goes in with the build, so the next version of this page carries real numbers.

How it worked

One deliverable at a time, staged for review
Forty-eight hour turnaround between stages
One round of revisions built into every stage
Thirty days of tweaks after launch
“I’ve worked with a lot of people, and what impressed me most was how Nicole understood and quickly translated the heart of my practice into a website I am proud to present.”

If the work is already there, the site is the gap.

Make It Land takes on one or two engagements at a time.
